“As it is in Heaven” - Vision Sunday Part 1.

Matthew 6 (ESV)

9 Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name.

10 Your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread,

12 and forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

VISION SUNDAY 2022 @ Colonial Church.

WHAT BEGAN WITH A VISION CONTINUES WITH A VISION TO THIS DAY.

(In fact its amazing that in our first year as a church we started with hurricane Matthew in 2016 within the first year our church was thrust into the community helping people and being apart of that together was so important for us as a church - a bond was formed - (CLEAN UP CREWS PHOTO)

sunday meetings at our house in between the all in gatherings we had (75 people / 25 kids)

From the very beginning our church has had 3 distinct things that are prominent: WORSHIP / THE WORD / KIDS

2017 -2018: Was the beginning of us forming into a weekly church finding WEEKLY VENUES & Getting our first permanent space to call HOME on Anastasia ISLAND (Where we still have a sign up to this very day - free advertising!) (Photo of the HQ space)

.. and finally we found a space that would be WHERE we would really learn to CRAWL as a church: THE ARMORY ON SAN MARCO.!!! (Where we would grow to two unsay morning services and hold baptisms out front for all the traffic on San Marco to see!!)….……

WE GREW UP

and WERE STILL GROWING UP!

ANd after growing weekly church - we stepped out in FAITH and found our own PLACE TO CALL HOME

SINCE THEN SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED: ITS BEEN A WELCOME HOME STORY.

Many Many People making decisions to FOLLOW JESUS> 1832

many many people making a choice to be planted in Gods house, and surrounded by community!

YOU SAW THE STONES ON THE WAY IN: THOSE ARE OUR MEMORIAL STONES - We remember

Joshua 4:1–7 (ESV)

4 Then Joshua called the twelve men from the people of Israel, whom he had appointed, a man from each tribe. 5 And Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, 6 that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ 7 then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.”

THE VISION FOR THE NEXT 7 IS AN “AS IT IS IN HEAVEN” VISION.

As WE GRO UP WE ALSO MUST GROW DOWN: A Tree doesn’t JUST GROW IP in Stature and expandion above the ground - it also GROWS down into the soil around it creating a STRENGTH and a SENSE of

SO WHAT IS OUR GROW UP / GROW DOWN VISION

Now that God has given us so much above the surface, we now believe we will grow down into the SOIL of this land, this city, this community, this region.

WHEN THE PEOLPLE CROSSED THE JORDAN IT WAS A KINGDOM COMING CROSSING

IT WAS A FULFILLMENT OF A WORD GIVEN TO ABRAHAM

Genesis 12:1 “Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.”

Genesis 12:4-5 “So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan. When they came to the land of Canaan,”

Genesis 12:7 “Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.”

The memorial stones were about remembrance

But they were also about the future

the vision that God had for HIS PEOPLE!

The

“ON EARTH AS IT IS, IN HEAVEN”

What in YOUR life would you like to see “AS IT IS IN HEAVEN”. What Hevenly aspect would you like in your life. What are of your life needs a bit of “as it is in heaven”? Walk with Jesus, Marriage, kids, Family, Work etc?

The vision is the KINGDOM COMING!

1.The Kingdom Coming to YOU. (Salvation is coming to your HOUSE)

Are you saved? Has salvation come to you? There are many people ALREADY who through the minisrty and the presence of the Church in St Augustine now means that SALVATION HAS COME…. To their DOORSTEP.

Maybe you made a deciion to follow Jesus in our church - Or maybe it was a long time ago - But you have reached a land of promise!

The kingdom MUST COME TO ME, BEFORE I SEE IT FOR OTHERS

My faith has to be MY faith. It cant be someone else’s FAITH

Its a vision of SALVATION LITERALLY COMING TO THE DOORSTEP OF THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE HERE

In ST Johns county ALONE:

There are 125,222 Housholds / 292,466 People

SJC see’s growth forecasted at 15,000 new residents every year.

So far since we moved in to this building weve seen 1832 decisigns to FOLLOW Christ.

I want you to think about this

292,000 people

webe already seen 1800 decisions since we moved here

Im believing now the vision before us is 10,000 Decisions for CHRIST.

But how?

is the programs, is it the diffthent eministries is it the various projects

to an extent YES - BUT THE REAL INITIATIVE IS YOU! THE VISION IS THE KINGDOM COMING TO YOU.

AND US COLLECTOVLY AND CORPORATELY BECOMING THE INSTRUMENT OF GODS DESIGN

You are the Initiagive of GODS DESIGN (point 2)

2.The Kingdom Coming to YOUR WORLD (SALVATION is coming to your WORLD)…

This is the mission of your life.

Your FRIENDS

Your Worskplace

Your Street & Community that you live in.

A FRESH VISION FOR OUR CITY:

The Kingdom COMING AS IT IS IN HEAVEN TO THE LAND WE ARE IN

We have roughly 2500 Neighborhoods (HOA data)

The kingdom coming to every neighborhood in our county through YOU — OUR PEOPLE —- INFLUENCING AND REACHING OUT AND INVITING AND INFLUENCING THROUGH A KINGDOM WAY OF LIFE: GRACE, MERCY, KINDNESS, FAITH THROUG STORMS….

Could we believe together to SEE A CITY AND REGION COMPLETLY CANGED ?

What if we reached EVERY SUNGLE NEIGHBROOD?

Our church reaching EVERY SINGLE STREET?

A CHURCH SO INFLUENTIAL THE PEOPLE WHO CALL IT HOME REACH OUT INTO EVERY NEIGHBOURHOOD… EVERY STRET!

3.The Kingdom is coming to OUR CITY (Salvation of our city).

which is a decleration of the vision ahead for us as a church

I want to show it to you:

This is the colonial church of the future!

THE CHURCH WE SEE (A Vision Manifesto) / I pray this puts language around the VISION OF OUR CHURCH GOING FORWARD!

…..“We see a beautiful, exciting and vibrant church with a great number of people from all walks of life. Its a Church that relentlessly and passionately worships The Father in spirit and truth and its people walk in love, grace with joy overflowing.

John 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”

……We see a church where Jesus is at the center, a people who know how to pray and elevate high the word of God in their lives.

Matt 6:9-15 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

………We see a church equipping the next generation who will know their identity and worth and take their place in the family of God.

Ephesians 4:11-16 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

(This is Leadership College, This is Exchange Young Adults, This is Youth House, This is Colonial Kids……

……..We see a church where Faith is building and the miraculous takes place with heads lifted and bodies healed.

Psalm 103:1-3 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,”

(This is Sunday services with healings regularly… this is worship nights with Ministry Moments where breakthrough takes place…. A church were we pray for people and they are heagled. We pray over peoples entire lives and they see HEALING and REFRESHMENT

Pastoral care… Sozo….. Prayer Team….. Evangelism….. **I prsonally see a vision of you, the everyday people of this church, stepping out in faith and praying and laying hands on friends and neighbors and seeing like in the book of acts miraculous healing take place in the streets of our city and our community

…..We see a church that is uniquely positioned to love and serve a city for kingdom influence. Such influence that the city cannot ignore it and is never the same.

Matt 5:14-16 ““You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

(This is GOOD FRIDAY, CHRISTMAS & EASTER… This is all the many meals provided through all the care channels. This is YOU AND ME Stepping out in every district, Every burrough , every neighbourhod… every STREET

IN JESUS NAME

…….We see a church where the grace and the kindness of an almighty God is ever present and its in this place the lost find hope, the prodigals will return and all of heaven rejoices.

Luke 15:32 (ESV)

32 It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’ ”

This is our GRACE CULTURE… ALWAYS INVITING PEOPLE INTO THIS KINGDOM CENTERD LIFE IN JESUS NAME

This is the church we can see, a church where it is here now, as it is in heaven. We truly believe this is our church: Colonial Church.”
